Small Cap

Cardinal Capital’s Small Capitalization Equity Composite (“Small Cap”) is constructed using the same value oriented methodology as Cardinal’s U.S. Large Cap Core and Non-U.S. Composites. Cardinal’s Small Cap Equity Composite is a broadly diversified portfolio of U.S. companies with market capitalizations generally below $2 billion and above $100 million. Returns are measured against the Russell 2000 Index and the managers that benchmark against it. Risk is measured by beta or standard deviation of return versus those of the Russell 2000 Index

As of June 30, 2011, Cardinal Capital’s Non-U.S. Equity Composite was comprised of 55 securities. The dividend yield on the portfolio as of June 30, 2011 was 1.3% versus the Russell 2000 Index’s 1.2%. The price earnings ratio of the portfolio was 18.4 versus the Russell 2000 Index’s P/E of 18.7. The beta on the portfolio was 0.69 versus the Russell 2000 Index’s beta defined as 1.0.
